What we know about you, which is very little.

This site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no newsletter and no comments. We do not ask for your name or your email address, and we do not sell or rent personal information. This page explains the little that is collected automatically when you visit, and by whom.

Who is responsible

uselessuntilneeded.com is published by Drowning Hand, an independent media company in the United States. For anything about this policy, write to sos@drowninghand.com.

What is collected automatically

Site analytics. Page views are measured with Vercel Web Analytics, which records the page, the referring site, the country, the device type and the browser in aggregate. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you across other sites.

Advertising measurement. Pages load a Google Ads measurement tag (the "gtag" script). It lets us see whether advertising we run for the site brings visitors, and it may set Google cookies in your browser. Google's handling of that data is described in Google's advertising policies; you can opt out through Google Ads Settings or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Hosting logs. The site is served by Vercel. Like every web host, it keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, requested page, time, browser string) for security and reliability. We do not export or analyze these logs to identify individual visitors.

When you leave the site

Most pages link to a retailer's product listing. When you click one of those links you are on the retailer's site, under its privacy policy. Affiliate links carry a tag that tells the retailer the visit came from this site; the tag identifies the site, not you. The retailer, including Amazon, may set its own cookies to attribute a later purchase to that visit.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. The Google Ads tag described above may set third-party cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal information about visitors, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request. If you believe we hold something about you, or you have a question about a third-party tool on the site, write to sos@drowninghand.com and we will answer.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes, such as adding a new third-party tool, will be described here.
